Fuerzabruta
What a show. Fuerza Bruta (trans. Brute Force) was worth the freezing wait in line for our cheap rush tickets. Luckily, it was first come, first served, and everyone else was behind us. After we gathered our tickets, we warmed up in the nearby Starbucks with some sort of a jumbo caramel something-or-other.
Once it was time, we were brought into a small lounge, followed by a large, dark room. The entire group of people were put into a large circle, and the room filled with a deep red glow. The show started with a striking silhouette who slowly moved into the center of our area. Stage crew pushed us outward as he moved toward.
The whole feeling of the show was surreal. We were herded from place to place as the action happened around us an even interacted with us. There were dance numbers, cast members flying from cables and running on the walls, and even mermaids sliding above at arms’ reach.
The conclusion of the show ended with a literal rave where the cast members joined the audience for a merry dance and rain fell from the virtual sky. I’d do it again.
A Rave, a Musical, a Fight and a Slip ‘n Slide
